Diplomats in Delhi condole loss of life in explosion near Red Fort | delhi news

It advised its citizens to: “Avoid the areas around the Red Fort and Chandni Chowk in Delhi; avoid crowds; monitor local media for updates; be aware of your surroundings; and remain alert in locations frequented by tourists.”

The French embassy also advised its “citizens in New Delhi to exercise the utmost vigilance and caution.” However, French Ambassador Thierry Matteau posted, “On behalf of the French people and government, I offer our deepest condolences to those who lost loved ones in the #RedFort explosion. Our thoughts are with the families of the victims, and we wish a full and complete recovery to all those injured.”

Reacting to the incident, Bangladesh High Commissioner Riaz Hamidullah sent his condolences to the victims, saying: “I and my colleagues at the Bangladesh High Commission express our deep condolences on the death of at least 10 Indians and many more injured in a car explosion this evening at #RedFort #Delhi. Our thoughts and prayers remain with all those affected, including their families. Bangladesh stands with #India at this hour “The difficult one.”

The High Commission of Sri Lanka expressed its sincere condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the tragic explosion that occurred in Delhi… and wished a speedy recovery for the injured. “Sri Lanka stands in solidarity with the people and government of India,” she said in a post on X.

Several other countries, including Egypt, Morocco and Iran, also expressed their condolences. The Embassy of Iran expressed its deep sorrow over the loss of lives and injuries of many Indian citizens in the car explosion in Delhi, and expressed its sincere condolences to the government and people of India.

She added: “The embassy also expresses its sincere sympathy to the families of the victims and wishes them patience and comfort, as well as a speedy recovery for those injured in this tragic accident.”

Japanese Ambassador Ono Keiichi said: “I am deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life in the Delhi explosion. I offer my sincere condolences to the bereaved families and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
