‘Akshay Kumar sidelined his secretary, he died a sad man’: Abu Malik says star ‘wanted to grow at all costs’, went from collecting Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh | Bollywood News

Music composer Abu Malik recently spilled some beans on both Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna. While talking about how he enjoys working with a lot of young actors in live events currently, he revealed that some actors didn’t oblige him when he approached them for services. One of them is actor-turned-author Twinkle Khanna.

“I had messaged Twinkle about my book Rantings of a Madman (in 2017). Everyone, including Malaika (Arora), sent me a video commenting on the book. But she said, ‘No, I can’t do it.’ “I can’t be there for the book launch. ‘I have no idea why. I never asked her. I asked for a video from everyone, but she didn’t send one.’

He saw that many of these actors were “growing up”, so they did not reciprocate or return any favors. “They were going through a certain phase in life where they were desperate to grow. When their thing got too big, the show ended,” Abu added in an interview with Vicky Lalwani. Abu used to organize Bollywood events across the world, which were very profitable in the 1990s and early 2000s.

He revealed that with Akshay and Twinkle, he goes back to “the beginning of their careers”. Abu claimed that Akshay’s former secretary Vikas Bali approached him because he wanted Akshay to have a new source of income through live performances. “So, it was fine, Oh. It doesn’t matter. They grew up, and it was fine,” Abu added.

He described Akshay as a man with his “back against the wall.” “They just had to get ahead at all costs,” Abu said. “They only wanted people who could give them money at any cost. Whenever they could communicate directly, they would accept it. He was that kind of man. He marginalized the people who actually gave him money. He did that to his secretary as well.”

Abu claimed that Akshay never asked Bali to leave, but just outsourced all his work to other people. “He never left. He just died. Since someone else was doing his job, it hurt him more than anything else,” Abu said, adding: “He died a very sad man. Akshay’s job was his only job.” However, Abu claimed that Akshay hired Bali’s son who is still working with him. “Akshay grew a lot after that, from Rs 5-10 lakh to Rs 10 crore.
