Apple, in collaboration with designer Issey Miyake, has unveiled a new “limited edition” accessory called the iPhone Pocket. Inspired by the idea of a “piece of cloth”, the carrying case can comfortably hold any iPhone as well as other small daily essentials. Made in Japan and designed by Issey Miyake Design Studio, which also made the iconic black jackets worn by Steve Jobs, Apple says its new fashion accessories have a 3D knit construction and feature an open ribbed construction with “original pleating characteristics.”
iPhone Pocket can be used as a shoulder or wrist carrying case, and you can also attach it to handbags. Available in short and long versions, it’s compatible with iPhone 8 or later models and can also accommodate AirPods.

While the short belt is available in eight muted colors: lemon, tangerine, lilac, pink, peacock, ruby, cinnamon, and black, the long belt comes in ruby, cinnamon, and black. In case you were wondering, the short strap is priced at $149.95, while the long strap can be purchased for $229.95, which roughly translates to Rs 13,300 and Rs 20,400 respectively.
Apple has announced that the iPhone Pocket is a “Special Edition” and will be available for purchase starting November 14 at select Apple Stores across France, Greater China, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
This is not the first time that Apple has launched a strange and expensive accessory for its products. In November 2004, Apple unveiled iPod Socks, a collection of multi-colored cotton socks to protect iPods during travel. A few years ago, the tech giant unveiled a small piece of off-white microfiber cloth called the ‘Apple Polishing Cloth’, which currently retails for around Rs 1,700.
