A stampede-like situation unfolded at singer Shreya Ghoshal’s concert during the famous Bali Jatra festival in Cuttack. The accident occurred shortly after the famous singer took the stage, when a huge wave of excitement among the audience caused a large section of the audience to move forward. During the rush, two people reportedly fainted, while another person sustained minor injuries. Due to the sudden noise, the organizers temporarily stopped the concert. According to PTI, medical teams present at the scene immediately treated the two people who had fainted, one of whom was a woman. They were first treated at the on-site first aid center and were later transferred to the Medical College and SCB Hospital for further care. Their condition is reported to be stable.

Reacting to reports of the chaos, Cuttack Police Commissioner S Deb Datta Singh denied any allegations of major disturbances. He stated: “There was no unpleasant situation. It is true that there was a large crowd, but we dealt with it properly. One person was slightly injured and his condition is stable.”
So far, Shreya Ghoshal has not commented publicly on the incident.
Earlier in the day, before arriving at the venue, the singer interacted with fans on X (formerly Twitter), sharing her excitement about performing at Cuttack. “On my way to Cuttack for today’s show, but I’m also excited about what’s coming up in a couple of days. Let’s kill some time until the sound check is done. AMA?” published.
During the session, a fan asked if she had tried Odia cuisine and recommended the famous Dhipara wadum. Shreya warmly replied, “I can’t wait to taste it today. I’ve eaten Odia food in the past and loved it! Cheena poda is delicious.”
