Happening today in Bengal: Ultadanga Bridge will be closed until Sunday for repairs, diverting traffic in the city; The new EMU train will be opened Kolkata News

The Ultadanga Bridge will be closed until Sunday for repair work, triggering traffic diversions that could lead to major traffic disruptions on Saturday. The flyover connecting to Kolkata Airport will be closed for maintenance till November 17 from 00:00 to 05:00 daily.

The temporary closure, for patch repair, asphalt mastic, road marking and traffic extensions, is expected to strain traffic in the city, which is already affected by restrictions due to the ongoing Test match between India and South Africa at Eden Gardens.

People are advised to allow extra time for their journeys and plan ahead, taking into account the daily overnight closures of the airport’s vital corridor. People heading to the airport are advised to consider alternative routes: EM Bypass – Hudco Crossing – Durgapur Bridge – VIP Road.
