Virat Kohli: Team India’s run machine Virat Kohli, who scored 2 centuries in two consecutive matches against South Africa, will be seen playing the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy. According to reports, Virat will be seen playing for this domestic trophy after about 15 years. Earlier there were reports about Virat that he will not play Vijay Hazare Trophy, but now the news has come that he will play for this trophy. Virat plays only one format, ODI, so BCCI had made a rule a few days ago that all the players will have to play domestic cricket. However, meanwhile, former Indian player Mohammad Kaif believes that Kohli should not be forced for this.
Return to Vijay Hazare Trophy after 15 years
Virat Kohli has retired from Test and T20 and he is currently playing in only one format i.e. ODI. In such a situation, BCCI had already said that all the players will have to play domestic matches. BCCI said the same not only to Virat but also to Rohit Sharma. However, till some time ago it was being said that Virat might not play Vijay Hazare Trophy, but now DDCA has confirmed that Virat will play domestic cricket. Former Indian player Mohammad Kaif has a different opinion regarding this pressure on Virat.
‘They should not be forced’- Mohammad Kaif
When Mohammad Kaif was asked about Virat playing domestic matches, he had said, “There should not be pressure on him to play domestic matches. This decision should be left to him. You can ask him and see his level. You should keep the door open for such players. Instead of imposing things on players, big coaches should prepare them to do their best. This does not apply to Virat and this has to be understood.”
