This incident was confirmed on Monday by Electronic Arts (EA), where Zampella used to be an important executive. “This is an unimaginable loss, and Jason Zampella was for us, and I’m sure for many others, a visionary creator whose work has shaped the world of interactive entertainment as we know it today,” the company said.
Chilling Footage Shows Final Moments
The disturbing video currently trending on social media captures the moment of the accident. The video shows a cherry-red 2026 Ferrari 296 GTS pulling out of a tunnel in the Angeles Crest Highway in the San Gabriel Mountains.
Seconds after leaving the tunnel, the high-performance car seems to spin out of control on the curvy, two-lane road. The car swings violently, crashes frontally into a concrete barrier, and is immediately engulfed in a massive fireball.

Fatal Injuries: Zampella was later pronounced dead, while the passenger who was rushed to a nearby hospital ended up dying as a result.
