

After the removal of Mustafizur Rahman from the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team of IPL, the dispute between India and Bangladesh is not ending. On one hand, Bangladesh announces the team for T20 World Cup 2026, while on the other hand, Sri Lanka is also requesting to shift all the matches to be held in India.
Meanwhile, former Indian team player Mohammad Azharuddin has given a big statement regarding India vs Bangladesh and Mustafizur Rahman. He has also taken a dig at Bangladesh, saying that the decision of the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) was right. He said ‘the board has not done anything wrong.’

On the release of Mustafizur Rahman from the Indian Premier League (IPL) Kolkata team, former Indian player Mohammad Azharuddin said, ‘The board has not done anything wrong. What is happening in Bangladesh is not good. But the matter is different in sports. However, whatever decision is taken by the board, it will be taken only after talking to the officials of the Ministry of External Affairs and Home Ministry.
Demand to shift the match from India to Sri Lanka
Citing a report, news agency ANI said, ‘Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided not to send the Bangladesh cricket team to India for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. A request has also been made to shift the matches of Bangladesh cricket team from India to Sri Lanka.
Mustafizur Rahman released from KKR
It is noteworthy that a strong protest was lodged in India regarding the playing of Bangladeshi player Mustafizur Rahman in IPL, after which the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ordered Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to release Mustafizur. KKR released him after BBCI’s order. Mustafizur Rahman was bought by KKR for Rs 9.20 crore.
