New Delhi: This week, a new trend is going on on Google, about which people are searching a lot on Google. In this activity, 67 two numbers have to be searched, due to which the entire browser screen starts shaking and jumping.
Initially thought by many to be a technical glitch or hardware failure, it is actually Google’s latest “Easter egg”, a hidden interactive feature designed to pay homage to a viral Internet phenomenon.
beginning to go viral
This bouncing effect is not a random design choice. This is directly linked to a viral “brainroot” meme that has taken over platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels.
The trend started with the 2024 song “Doot Doot (6 7)” by Philadelphia rapper Skrilla. The phrase “6 7” became increasingly popular after being paired with a viral video of a little boy at a basketball game.
In the clip, the boy excitedly moves his hands up and down, as if weighing something, and says the numbers along. This particular gesture, palms up and jumping vertically, became the signature move of the “6 7”. The trend became popular for the second time due to its association with NBA star LaMelo Ball, who is 6 feet 7 inches tall.
How does an Easter egg work?
When a user types 67 or 6 7 in the Google search bar and presses Enter, the results page briefly mimics the meme’s hand gesture. The entire display shakes up and down for a few seconds and then returns to its normal position.
This feature works seamlessly on all of these:
- Desktop Browser: (Chrome, Safari, Edge)
- Mobile Devices: (Android and iOS Google Apps)
- Google search homepage
Google is famous for these fun things, like “Do a barrel roll” (which rotates the page 360 degrees) and “Askew” (which tilts the result at an angle) like classic tricks.

While longtime users have expressed confusion over the absurd nature of the meme, Dictionary.com recently named “6 7” as a must-see expression for 2025. Lexicographers note that the word serves more as a “vibe” or social signal rather than as a phrase with literal meaning. Experts say, “This is partly an inside joke and partly a performance.” By including this bounce in their search engine, Google has officially cemented this “brainroot” slang in the digital history books.
If your screen starts dancing, don’t worry, your device is fine; It’s just keeping up with the latest internet craze.
