Greater Noida wedding turns heads – Groom hires helicopter to fly his bride home | delhi news

A wedding at Rampur Khidr village in Greater Noida became the talk of the area after the groom swept his bride off her feet – literally. He transported her home by helicopter, drawing the entire village to the fields to watch the spectacle.

The groom, Arjun Sharma, hails from Kamalpur village in Bulandshahr, while the bride, Anjali Sharma, is the daughter of local farmer Ajay Sharma.

Arjun, who helps his father in the family business, said traveling with his bride by helicopter had always been his childhood dream. “I always thought that when I got married, I would bring my wife home by helicopter. I told my father about this – and he made it happen,” he said.

Preparations began a few days ago

Rajkumar, who runs a wholesale toy business in Delhi, said he booked the helicopter a month ago from Pawan Hans in Noida, paying Rs 4 lakh for a one-hour flight. He added: “It was my son’s dream, and I wanted to make it come true. We had to visit the Dubai Municipality office and the police station several times to obtain flight permits.”

A local resident said the groom’s family set up a temporary helipad in a field outside the village four days ago. “When the helicopter landed around 11 a.m. Monday, it looked like an exhibition.”

The wedding took place on Sunday night with much pomp, and the next morning the Biday helicopter attracted hundreds of villagers from both Rampur Khader and Kamalpur. As the helicopter took off with the newlyweds on board, they captured this moment on their mobile phones.

Police confirmed that more security personnel have been deployed to prevent any untoward incidents amid the excitement.
