Dies Irae Collection at Box Office: Dies Irae, starring Pranav Mohanlal in the lead role, has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark at the worldwide box office. The psychological horror chamber drama, directed by Rahul Sadasivan of Pramayogam fame, reached the milestone within just six days of its theatrical release.
In India alone, Dies Irae has grossed over Rs 24 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. On Wednesday, the film recorded an overall occupancy rate of 27.04%. The occupancy rate went from 20.17% in the morning and 23.69% in the afternoon to 28.20% in the evening, reaching a peak of 36.10% during the night shows.
Dies Irae opened to rave reviews on October 31, with many praising its technical craftsmanship. Recently, director Rahul Sadasivan addressed rumors of a possible sequel to Dies Irae, as he concludes the film on an open note. Speaking to NDTV about the speculation, Rahul said, “Yes, it had a very open ending and leaves a window to explore more possibilities to bring these characters together again in another film. This happened organically – it was not intentional. Now, I am happy that I gave the right amount of details – not too much and not too little – for a potential sequel.”
