Rajasthan United FC tied with hosts Sporting Club Delhi 2-2 in the final Group D match of the Indian Super Cup, played at the GMC Stadium, here on Thursday.
Pedro Astray (22′) and Robinson Blandon (35′) scored in the first half to give Rajasthan United a 2-0 lead, but the Delhi FC fought back through Sourav (61′) and Allan Saji (90+4′) to secure their only point of the season.
Rajasthan FC, who needed a big win to have any chance of reaching the semi-finals, finished on four points. SC Delhi finished at the bottom of the standings with one point.
Kerala Blasters and Mumbai City will compete for the top spot and the final berth in the semi-finals.
Rajasthan United showed great importance in the first half as they went for a four-goal win to keep their qualification hopes alive. But it was Delhi FC who created the first chance of the match in the ninth minute when striker Devendra Murgaokar passed the ball to Augustine Lalrochana who headed his shot over the bar.
Rajasthan United continued to press high with Nauba Mete and Allan Thapa trying their luck from distance. The reward came in the 22nd minute when Lalvilkema’s corner kick found Pedro Astray at the far post.
The Spanish midfielder jumped high and sent a header past Delhi goalkeeper Vishal Yadav.

In the 35th minute, Rajasthan United doubled their lead with Astray firing a cross from the left flank to Allan Thapa on the right side of the penalty area. Thapa then sent a low ball across goal, and Robinson Blandon slotted it home for his second goal in as many games.
SC Delhi started the second half with more urgency. The breakthrough came in the 61st minute when Andre Alba crossed to Sourav, who raced into space on the right flank and fired a shot past James Kethan in the Rajasthan goal, scoring the Delhi club’s first ever goal from open play.
