Bayern 3-2 Arsenal (November 12, 2025) Match analysis

Arsenal stunned in the Women’s Champions League after Bayern Munich’s brilliant second-half comeback to secure a 3-2 win in Germany.

A dominant first-half display saw the defending champions take the lead through Emily Fuchs and Mariona Caldente but Bayern responded after the break with tries from Alara Seheitler and Pernille Harder to leave the game in the balance with 10 minutes remaining.

Glódís Perla Viggósdóttir had the final say in handing Arsenal a second defeat in the competition while Bayern recorded back-to-back wins.

Arsenal took the lead in the fifth minute when Maria Luisa Grohs blocked a Beth Mead shot and Fox reacted quickly by heading over the home goalkeeper.

Viggosdottir made an excellent sliding challenge in the area to deny Alessia Russo and Caldentey tested Grohs from distance before Daphne van Domselaar saved from Lea Schüller at the other end.

Arsenal’s clever movement led to Stina Blackstenius hitting the crossbar but the visitors doubled their lead moments later after controlling Bayern playing from the back and Caldente scored powerfully from outside the box into the top corner in the 23rd minute.

Arsenal dominated the game and Schuler delivered a dangerous cross from Meade at the back post just before half-time.

Bayern enjoyed a more confident start to the second half and were rewarded in the 67th minute after a great drive down the left flank from Clara Buhl, who played in Seeheitler to thread the ball past Van Domselaar.

After Frida Mannum was unable to finish Rousseau’s sensational pass across the penalty area, Bayern immediately made an inroad into the field and Harder curled the ball into the top corner from outside the area to equalize in the 80th minute.

Van Domselaar made a stunning save to save Julia Guinn’s shot over the bar but Bayern completed their comeback in the 86th minute when Vejosdottir slotted home a cross from Puhl.
