The BJP-led NDA beat the opposition in the 2025 Bihar Assembly election results announced on Friday, November 14. The Bharatiya Janata Party is on track to become the largest party in Bihar, winning 39 seats while leading in 51 others, according to Election Commission of India data.
BJP’s alliance partner, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) (JDU) is in second place, winning 28 seats and leading in 55 more.
The Mahagathbandhan has collapsed at the polls, the Rashtriya Janata Dal is on track to win less than 30 seats and the Congress is likely to settle for single digits.
However, the prominent parliament was the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, which, according to Election Commission of India data, won four seats and is leading in another.
AIMIM candidates won in Jokihat, Bahadurgan, Kochadaman and Amur.
AIMIM contested 25 seats in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections and secured a vote share of 1.9 per cent.
The AIMIM contested 21 seats as part of the Grand Democratic Secular Front coalition in the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections and won Amur, Besi, Jokihat, Kochadaman and Bahadurgan.
In the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, AIMIM contested alone after seat-sharing talks with the India Bloc collapsed.
Subsequently, Asaduddin Owaisi announced that AIMIM would contest 100 seats in Bihar, but the party ultimately fielded 25 candidates, including two non-Muslims.
