“Mahioti in Maharashtra will emerge victorious in the local body elections under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar,” Todi said.
Speaking to the media at the BJP office in Patna after the elections, Todi, who played a crucial role in the Bihar elections, said: “The state parliament will take a decision on the chief minister in a couple of days… When an Indian state achieves such a big victory, it is certainly encouraging. It is a giant leap forward that will have an impact across the country.”

With Chief Minister Nitish Kumar remaining in power in the state almost continuously for 20 years, many were skeptical about the NDA’s comeback in the Assembly elections. Todi said the overwhelming mandate in Bihar demonstrated people’s confidence in Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and development.
Commenting on the upcoming elections in Maharashtra, the BJP leader added: “The Mahayoti Party will win across the local bodies in the state.” He noted, “The opposition’s main agenda in the polls is to vote chauri (theft). Now, how can that be a problem for the campaign?”
While criticizing the Thackeray family, the BJP general secretary asked: “How can you make a servant your partner?” Instead, “the individual who becomes a corporation must represent the masses.” The statement came in the wake of posters put up by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) outside Shiv Sena Bhavan, which said: “Thackeray will become sevak nagarsibak.”
