According to the 2025 election results, live broadcast of the votes online: By-elections were held to consolidate constituencies in 6 states and a union territory on 11 November. The by-elections were held to fill vacant posts in the constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Telangana, Punjab, Mizoram and Odisha.
Key dates and constituencies
Gazette notification was issued for all eight seats on October 13, officially starting the electoral process. Voting was held on November 11, 2025 (Tuesday).
For all constituencies (except those in Jammu and Kashmir), a special pre-election summary review was conducted, and the qualifying date was 1 July 2025. For the two J&K seats, the final list was published on 5 May 2025.

In line with the Supreme Court rulings, the Election Commission of India reiterated strict rules regarding candidates with criminal records. These candidates and their political parties were required to publish information about their criminal backgrounds three times in newspapers and on television channels during the election campaign period. Political parties must also publish the reason for selecting candidates with criminal records within 48 hours of selection on their website and official social media platforms.
Turnout at the polls
Damba saw a turnout of 82.3%, and it was 80.3% in Anta, 79.4% in Nuapada, 75.1% in Nagrota, 74.6% in Ghatshila, 61% in Tarn Taran in Bunga, 50% in Budgam and 48.5% in Jubilee Hills at the end of the polls. Two polling officials in Odisha have been suspended for failing to maintain the secrecy of voting.
When will the by-election results be announced?
The by-election results will be announced on November 14 (Friday), along with the results of the Bihar state elections. The counting of votes will begin at eight in the morning.
