Posting on social media, he wrote, “After 14 seasons, I am now withdrawing my name from the upcoming IPL auction.” He further wrote in the post, “I was lucky that I got a chance to play with a world class teammate.” However, Faf du Plessis will participate in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). There has been an uproar on social media after his post that he is leaving IPL and playing Pakistan Super League.
Faf du Plessis posted on social media and wrote, “After 14 seasons, I am withdrawing my name from the upcoming auction of IPL. This league has been very special for me. In this league, I got a chance to play with world class team mates. In this league, I got a chance to play with not just one but many great franchises and also got a chance to play in front of the fans for whom sports is not a job of passion.”
Faf du Plessis further said, “14 years in the league was a long time and I can proudly say that life was the best part. India is very close to my heart and has a special meaning. This is not my goodbye and you will see me again and again. This year I have taken a new decision and taken up a new challenge.”
