The Special Intensive Review (SIR) of voters’ list was launched with 50,963 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to begin a door-to-door drive to distribute census forms on Tuesday across Gujarat.

In a statement, the CEO’s office said Gujarat is among the 12 states and union territories where the Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for SIR. In Ahmedabad district, a total of 5,524 electoral organizations joined the process of distributing forms to 62,59,620 voters from 21 Assembly constituencies.
Ahmedabad District Election Officer and Collector Sujit Kumar also held a meeting with representatives of political parties in Ahmedabad and were informed about the entire process. “From today, BLOs in Ahmedabad district will distribute census forms to voters according to their allotted Assembly constituency. Following this, the filled forms will be returned from voters after four days,” a statement from the CEO’s office said.
