T20 series starting from 21st January
The T20 series against New Zealand will start from January 21 in Nagpur, followed by matches in Raipur, Guwahati, Visakhapatnam and Thiruvananthapuram. This series is the final preparation for the T20 World Cup to be held in India-Sri Lanka in February. In Tilak’s absence, the team management may have to make changes in the middle order. These three players can replace Tilak Verma
Shreyas Iyer is fit. There is always discussion about them. He has not been included in the Indian fleet for the upcoming tournament. 31-year-old Iyer is also a perfect number four batsman like Tilak. He has also proved his usefulness while playing at this position. In such a situation, there will be nothing surprising if he is included in the team.
Gill is another name but due to continuous flop performance he was suddenly dropped from the team. Now that Tilak is ill. There is a possibility of his coming into the team once again. The whole world is well aware of Gill’s class. He has the power to win the match on his own. Informed batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad is also in the race. Batting at number four in the recently concluded ODI series against South Africa, he has also scored a century. In such a situation, if he gets a chance in the team, he has the power to compensate for Tilak well.
