

IPL 2026: Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders has released Bangladesh’s left-arm fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from its team from IPL 2026. This decision has been taken on the instructions of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Kolkata Knight Riders bought Mustafizur Rahman for Rs 9.20 crore.
There was a demand for boycott of Bangladeshi players for the last several days, after which BCCI took this decision. After this decision, KKR has dropped him from its team with the process. Meanwhile, former Indian player Aakash Chopra has given his reaction regarding the exclusion of Mustafizur Rahman from IPL. Welcoming this decision, he held Bangladesh responsible and not the players.

Welcoming the decision to drop Bangladesh’s left-arm fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders, Aakash Chopra said, ‘Pakistani players are also talking about what is the mistake of the fees, but when a country makes a mistake, every countryman has to pay the price. This decision is absolutely right and Kolkata needs to prepare for this.
Remove Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman from the team – BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia
Regarding the removal of Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman from the team, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said, “Due to the recent developments across the country, BCCI has directed the KKR franchise to remove one of its players, Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman from the team. BCCI has also said that if KKR demands a replacement, the replacement will be allowed.”
In recent days, there were reports of attacks and violence on Hindu minorities in Bangladesh, after which many people started raising their voice that it is not right to allow Bangladeshi players to play in IPL 2026. BJP leaders also opposed this. He said that Hindus are being persecuted in Bangladesh, then it is wrong to give a chance to the players here.
