Bengaluru, November 13: Bengaluru Police recently said that the accused in the October 26 hit-and-run case deliberately swerved his car to hit the victims.
“It is not an accident. This is an act of violence, and someone could have died due to it. We have registered a case under Section 109 (1) (attempt to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). This should be a lesson and a message. The entire incident could have been easily avoided,” Akshay M Hake, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central), told The Indian Express.
Sukrit Keshav Gowda, 23, a software engineer working for a private company in Whitefield, was arrested last week in the case.

“Later, when the light turned red, he started moving. I pointed with my hand and asked him why the road was closed when the light was green. As soon as we got in front of him, he started following us and kept honking the horn relentlessly. I moved to the right to give him space.
“As Jodha continued to sound the horn, I slowed down, but he immediately swerved the car, hitting us and speeding off.”
