People who have visited Bengaluru know that arriving at the airport is not a pleasant experience. Located far from the city centre, Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) is notorious for its traffic congestion, often leaving travelers stranded on the road for longer than they are actually in the air. Now, a new complaint from a frustrated commuter has sparked an online debate about transport woes in Bengaluru.
X user Disha Saini recently shared a video showing a huge queue at the Uber pickup point outside the airport, claiming that she had to “wait more than two hours” to get a taxi. The clip depicts a sea of passengers, all standing with their luggage in what appears to be a never-ending line to board.

The plane landed in Bangalore at night to save time, and this is what the meeting point at the airport looks like. I waited over two hours here. pic.twitter.com/591c3fWnrZ

The post has since gone viral, with many users expressing frustration, saying the situation at Kia has become worse in recent months, both in terms of traffic and ride availability.
“This is one of the reasons I always try to drop in in the afternoon/evening, so you don’t have to be stuck in a parking lot for 4 hours,” one user wrote. Another user commented, “Bangalore is overrated at this point! Companies should start giving the option to work from home so that people can stay in their hometown and work remotely.”
A third person said: “It’s been a long time since I’ve taken an Uber from the airport. I generally use the airport taxi to travel. A bit expensive but has fewer problems.”
A fourth person shared, “It will always be funny to me that my flight from Mumbai to Bangalore used to take 2 hours and from BLR to the city it took 4 hours!”
