The United States has reportedly sought a two-year authorization to deploy an international security force in Gaza as part of President Donald Trump’s peace plan. The United States sent a draft resolution to several members of the UN Security Council, including the proposal.
International Security Force
according to AxiosThe project stipulates that the international force’s tasks will include “protecting civilians” and “training a new Palestinian police force.” In particular, the draft stated that the mandate of the Internal Security Forces also includes disarming Hamas, “if the group or elements within it do not do so voluntarily.”
The agreement stipulates that the Internal Security Forces will have a broad role and assume “additional tasks that may be necessary to support the Gaza Agreement.”

Peace Council
The force will include forces from several participating countries and will be formed in consultation with the “Peace Council” in Gaza.
Trump had proposed establishing a peace council in his 20-point peace plan for Gaza. Trump will chair the peace council, and former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair will be one of its members. It is not yet clear who will participate in the peace council, but it is expected to include international figures or representatives of the United Nations, Arab and Western countries.
The draft also stipulated that the peace council should remain in place at least until the end of 2027.
According to the draft, the peace council will “supervise and support a technocratic, non-political Palestinian committee composed of competent Palestinians from the Strip… which will be responsible for the daily operations of the civil service and administration in Gaza.”

The draft stipulates that all organizations providing aid to Gaza, including the United Nations, the Red Cross and the Red Crescent, will work with the peace council.
