Former Indian player Robin Uthappa claimed in a video on his YouTube channel that ‘Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s retirement from Test cricket does not seem natural at all.’ He further said that the sudden decision of both the players had surprised many people. It seems that both of them took this decision under some compulsion. However, he also said that ‘I don’t know whether this retirement was forced or not, although the departure of both does not seem natural.’
If we talk about Virat Kohli’s Test career, he has scored a total of 9230 runs in 210 innings of 123 matches. He has also scored 30 centuries and 31 half-centuries in his Test career. Virat’s best score in Test is 254 runs. Virat Kohli is currently active in the ODI format and will also be seen in the upcoming New Zealand ODI series.
Rohit Sharma has played many more test matches than Virat. Rohit has scored 4301 runs in 116 innings of 67 test matches. Rohit has scored 12 centuries and 16 half-centuries in Tests. Rohit’s best score in Test is 212 runs.
