Suryakumar Yadav: The schedule of T20 World Cup 2026 was announced only on November 25, 2025. The first match of the World Cup will be played on 7 February. India’s first match is with the United States on February 7, which will be played in Mumbai.
However, before the T20 World Cup, the T20 series with South Africa continues. After South Africa, New Zealand team will also come to India, with which there is a 5-match T20 series. Meanwhile, before the World Cup, former Indian team player Mohammad Kaif has raised many serious questions about the form of captain Suryakumar along with vice-captain Gill. He has expressed concern about the form of both the players.
Captain cannot be changed – Mohammad Kaif
Former Indian team player Mohammad Kaif has posted on X regarding the form of current T20 captain Suryakumar. He wrote in the post that ‘India has many options for opening batsmen, but a great captain cannot be changed.’
Mohammad Kaif has raised questions not only on Suryakumar’s form but also on T20 vice-captain Shubman Gill. He wrote in X Post, “T20 World Cup is near. Surya’s form is more of a matter of concern for India than Gill’s form.” In such a situation, it is being said that Kaif has also raised questions on the form of T20 captain and vice-captain Shubman Gill.
India’s first match in the T20 World Cup is with the United States on February 7. Apart from this, the match between Namibia will be played in Delhi on 12th February, India vs Pakistan match will be played in Colombo, Sri Lanka on 5th February and the match between Netherlands in Ahmedabad on 18th February. The final match will be played on March 8 in Ahmedabad/Colombo.
