Two suspected activists of the Tilu Tajpuria gang in Delhi were arrested in possession of illegal firearms after police foiled a murder plot, officers said on Friday.
The two arrested men have been identified as Parth (22) and Vikrant (21), both residents of Ambrahi village in Dwarka. The officers added that the arrests prevented a targeted killing planned by Amit (known as Dabang), a key member of the gang.
According to investigators, the duo had recently been inducted into the gang and were acting on the instructions of Amit, who reportedly gave them weapons, money and a target to eliminate.

Police said the gang, which is active across Delhi and neighboring states, is linked to several cases of contract killings, extortion and armed attacks.
The arrests were made after a week-long operation to intensify monitoring of gang activity and intercepting the movement of illegal weapons in the area.
The officers said that they first received specific information on the intervening night of November 4 and 5 that the Tagpuria gang had recruited two young men from Ambrahi village who were carrying weapons.
A raiding party was immediately formed and deployed around Dhulsiras Chowk. At around midnight, officers intercepted Parth, who was riding a black motorcycle.

It was later found that the car was stolen from the Dwarka South police station area, officers said.
A search of Barth’s belongings allegedly yielded a homemade handgun filled with a single live cartridge. Police also confiscated his mobile phone, which they said contained the Zangi app, an encrypted communications platform allegedly often used by gang members to avoid law enforcement surveillance.
Based on Parth’s revelations, officers tracked down his accomplice Vikrant and arrested him on November 7 from Ambrahi village. A locally made pistol with a live cartridge was also found in his possession, police said, along with an additional cartridge in his pocket.
“During his interrogation, Parth told the police that he had personal enmities in his village and was in touch with the gang to ‘eliminate’ them. He said the gang provided weapons and money and tasked him to recruit more men for the gang,” Dwarka DCP Ankit Singh said. He added that Vikrant, a cleaner, was lured to join the gang with promises of making easy money.

“Accordingly, he was motivated by Vikrant. Vikrant also confirmed his association with Parth and admitted his involvement in gang-related activities,” DCP Singh said.
Police said the arrests helped solve two cases – an electronic FIR registered on October 28 at Dwarka South police station under Section 305 (B) (theft) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and another lodged on November 5 under the Arms Act at Sector 23 police station.
The seized weapons and ammunition were transferred to forensic medicine, while the motorcycle was returned to its owner.
Senior officers said further investigations are underway. The teams are verifying the allegations of the accused, identifying their contacts and tracking the gang’s larger network within Dwarka, especially its use of encrypted communications platforms to evade surveillance.
