Lenskart, a manufacturer of sunglasses and eyewear, has announced that it will come up with smart glasses equipped with AI-powered cameras called B by Lenskart. This project will reportedly enable seamless integration across categories like food delivery, entertainment, fitness, and more by making AI and camera technology available to top consumer apps and independent developers.
This will transform smart glasses from a lifestyle accessory into a platform for everyday use. Weighing just 40 grams, Lenskart B Glasses are approximately 20 percent lighter than comparable smart glasses, and are designed for everyday wear.
This new step towards AI-powered eyewear makes Lenskart the first complete wearables ecosystem in India. The AI camera glasses are being created and engineered in India for the global market and are expected to go on sale by the end of December 2025.
The glasses are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chipset, the same platform used by other leading manufacturers of augmented reality devices. B by Lenskart features a built-in Sony camera for hands-free photography and videography. The device has a built-in AI assistant, powered by Google Gemini 2.5 Live, which enables natural, human-like interactions. The glasses can also do hands-free UPI payments, live conversation translation, and more.
Lenskart intends to expand production using its manufacturing capabilities, data analytics and omni-channel retail network. The company has also made investments in XR and AI startups, such as Ajna Lens, to expand its horizon.
According to industry analysts cited by Lenskart, the worldwide smart glass market is expected to reach $4-5 billion by 2030, with India expected to be a key growth region.
A few months ago, Meta also unveiled a number of smart glasses with a focus on AI wearables. The Ray-Ban Meta Display, a $799 pair of smart glasses with a contextual information display on the right lens, is one of them. These glasses were introduced in the United States on September 30, marking a step toward a new computing platform.
